Job Title	Controller - Directly manage and lead the accounting department
Postion Summary	The Controller is responsible for implementing strategic and tactical guidance in the areas of reporting, and GAAP accounting and reports to the COO.  This position will preserve and protect the company’s financial assets by designing and maintaining effective and efficient internal controls. This position is responsible for assuring that internal and external financial reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner as well as managing the external audits.
Experience Needed	Essential knowledge, skills and abilities: • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting • Strong quantitative and analytical skills  • Strong financial analysis and planning exposure • Background in business (5+ years), insurance strongly preferred • 5+ years of finance and accounting experience • Strong familiarity with GAAP and Statutory accounting for property and casualty insurance companies • Management experience necessary to lead team of accounting professionals • Great familiarity with general ledger and accounting software packages  • Microsoft PC applications including strong familiarity with spreadsheet applications Desirable knowledge, skills and abilities: • Assist with corporate budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning functions.  • Assist in the continuing enhancements to the financial planning and management reporting & analyses processes. Examine, analyze and seek new ways to improve efficiency and increase profits by monitoring financial patterns.  • Oversee the GAAP, Statutory, and internal financial statement reporting, analysis and preparation of communications of results  • Develop and prepare management reporting to facilitate strategic and operational decision-making process.  • Must possess an extremely high level of understanding of financial statements and be able to analyze their content.  • Must possess an organized mind that is able to sift though data with numerous variables to discern key facts. Ability to work under strict time constraints while able to focus on getting the job done accurately.
